ArmInfo. As soon as there is information on the date and place of the meeting of the heads of the foreign ministries of Armenia and Azerbaijan, the society will be informed about it. On September 2, during a briefing in Yerevan, the Spokeswoman of the Armenian Foreign Ministry Anna Naghdalyan said this, answering a question about the possibility of a meeting between the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan and its date.
At the same time, Naghdalyan recalled the statement made by the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan in an interview with "Interfax" on the readiness to continue work within the framework of the peace process. "Armenia also took note of the statement made by the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister during his visit to Moscow. However, it is difficult to say anything about the timing," she said.
At the same time, she stressed that after the July clashes Armenia presented its approach to the peace process, and among the priorities is non-use of force, strengthening the ceasefire regime, introducing trust mechanisms, ensuring the security of the Artsakh population.
At the same time, she reminded once again that Armenia has always acted from the position of strengthening trust mechanisms in the conflict zone, which presupposes the expansion of the team of the personal representative of the OSCE chairperson-in-office and the introduction of an incident investigation mechanism.
"Azerbaijan either directly rejects or puts forward conditions that nullify all efforts. But the issue is on the agenda. We have always been consistent in the implementation of these agreements," Naghdalyan said.
Answering the question about the statement by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov about the existence of a document suggesting a step-by-step solution, Naghdalyan recalled that the response was followed by a comment by the Armenian Foreign Minister, in which he stated the impossibility of an option in which the priority of security and self-determination fades into the background ... "After July, our efforts are aimed at restoring the negotiation process. Our priorities are ensuring the security of Artsakh and realizing the right to self-determination without restrictions," the RA MFA representative summed up.
