Armenian Defense Minister and Italian Ambassador discussed regional  security issues

ArmInfo.On September 1 RA Defense Minister David Tonoyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to the Republic of Armenia Vincenzo Del  Monac.

During the meeting, a number of issues of mutual interest related to  cooperation between Armenia and Italy in the defense sector were  discussed, the press service of the republic's defense department  reports. 

New deadlines for the implementation of a number of activities  postponed due to the epidemic were confirmed, and existing areas of  cooperation were discussed. The interlocutors also discussed the  service of the Armenian peacekeepers within UNIFIL and Keifor and the  organization of their shift.

During the meeting, issues related to international and regional  security were also discussed. David Tonoyan presented the reasons for  the continuing tension on the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border, the  situation on the line of contact.
