ArmInfo.At the military-sports complex and mountain range of Ijevan (Tavush region) of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, the military-professional stage "Athlete" within the framework of the international army games ARMY-2020 ended with the delivery of military- sports exercises.
According to the press service of the Southern Military District, the competitions were held in military- sports pentathlon on a route 1.5-2 km long across rugged mountainous and wooded terrain with throwing knives and hand grenades for accuracy and range, shooting from a Kalashnikov assault rifle at three targets at a distance of 150, 250 and 300 meters along the front.
After summing up the results of the military sports competitions of the "Athlete" stage among men and women, the team from Russia won, the team from the Republic of Belarus took the second place, the athletes from Armenia took the third place. According to the results of the stages "Cavalier" ("Madam"), "Professional", "Erudite" and "Athlete", military personnel from Russia take the leading place, in second place with a small margin from the leaders, the Armenian team and the third place in the honorary list of participants team of the Republic of Belarus.
The next final stage of "Sniper" firepower training of the "Warrior of Peace" international competition will be held on August 31 at the mountain range of Ijevan (Tavush region) of the Armenian Defense Ministry. Teams from the republics of Armenia, Belarus, Greece and Russia take part in the "Warrior of Peace" competition for professional skills of military personnel. Each team is represented by 4 military personnel, including one woman.
The ARMI competition in Armenia is held in compliance with all sanitary and anti-epidemiological measures aimed at excluding the introduction and spread of infectious diseases.
The international competition of military-professional skills of military personnel of friendly armies "Warrior of Peace" has been held annually since 2009 by the decision of the Council of Defense Ministers of the CIS member states and in accordance with plans for bilateral cooperation between the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the Ministries of Defense of the CIS member states.
