Tigran Parvanyan: Aviation of the 102nd Russian Military Base in  Armenia from an eagle`s eye view watches for the well-being and  protects the peaceful sky of our homeland

Commander of the united Armenian-Russian group, Major General Tigran  Parvanyan, said this at the Erebuni air base in Yerevan at the  opening ceremony of the Army-2020 military- technical forum.

At the same time, he added that despite the absence of a common  border between the countries, Armenia is not only a friendly state to  Russia, but also the closest ally and strategic partner. "And the  personnel of the Russian military base in Armenia, with their  exemplary service, demonstrates high professionalism and combat  skill. The flight personnel of the Erebuni air base takes an active  part in the joint air defense system. Aviation of the 102nd Russian  military base on the territory of Armenia watches for well-being and  peace from an eagle's eye view, fulfilling its tasks with honor,  protecting the peaceful sky of our homeland.  I am sure that the  military cooperation of our states will always allow us to be on  guard for the peace of the two fraternal peoples of Armenia and  Russia, "Parvanyan said.

In turn, Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergei Kopyrkin pointed out  the importance of the event being held outdoors in compliance with  all measures required by the current epidemiological situation. "As  for holding the forum here in Armenia, in my opinion? It is very  symbolic and logical. For the first time, a military-technical forum  is being held outside Russia, as far as I know, and what is happening  in Armenia, in my opinion very well reflects the nature of fraternal,  allied relations based on deep historical traditions and common  strategic interests of our states in today's difficult world. And of  course it reflects that special climate, warm fraternal climate that  is characteristic of relations between our peoples. I hope that  today's event will be useful both from a political and emotional  point of view, and that those who came to the base will get good  impressions, "the Russian diplomat said.
