Davit Tonoyan awarded Russian servicemen who helped to prevent  coronavirus in Armenian Armed Forces

ArmInfo. A solemn ceremony of awarding the Russian military who provided assistance to the Armenian side in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic was held in the administrative complex of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia.

As the press service of the RA Defense Ministry told ArmInfo, by the  order of the head of the Armenian defense department David Tonoyan  for the great work to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the RA  Armed Forces and its testing, the Russian Defense Ministry servicemen  Alexei Susloparov and Vasily Chukhralai were awarded with the  interdepartmental medals "Marshal Baghramyan", and Alexei Stupnikov,  Sergei Kalganov, Sergei Parfenov and Sergei Biserov - medals "For  Combat Cooperation".

The award ceremony was also attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary  and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of  Armenia Sergei Kopyrkin, the Air Attache of the Russian Embassy,  Colonel Andrey Grischuk.

Congratulating the awardees, David Tonoyan thanked the Russian side  for support in the fight against coronavirus, noting that thanks to  the diligence, hard work and high professional qualities of the  Russian Armed Forces, it was possible to overcome the difficult  moment of the epidemic with honor. David Tonoyan wished the Russian  specialists personal and professional success.

It should be noted that on the night of April 8, a group of Russian  military specialists arrived in Yerevan to assist their Armenian  colleagues in organizing measures to combat and prevent the new type  of coronavirus. The Russian group arrived in Yerevan within the  framework of the Armenian-Russian bilateral cooperation and  agreements between Armenian Defense Minister David Tonoyan and  Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. The Russian military brought  a disinfection system and a portable laboratory to Yerevan for  testing for COVID-19. These funds made it possible to increase the  efficiency of checking for coronavirus of Armenian servicemen and the  personnel of the Russian 102nd military base in Gyumri. The modular  laboratory was deployed for activity on April 9 and allows you to  give an answer to the test with an accuracy of 99% within 5 hours.  During the work at the laboratory, several thousand tests were  carried out.
