ArmInfo. In July 2020, the gross wage fund of working citizens of Armenia amounted to 127.4 billion drams. On August 24, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan left a note about this on his Facebook page.
The head of government clarified that this is the amount that was paid to the workers, and on which the income tax was calculated.
The same figure for June 2020 was equal to 120.8 billion drams. For comparison: in July 2019, working citizens were paid an amount equal to 117.6 billion drams. According to the updated data, Nikol Pashinyan continued, if in July 2019 the gross wages were distributed among 606,465 employees, and in June 2020 - between 609,302 jobs, then in July this year this figure was 613,062 employees. The head of government stressed that if in July last year the average salary was 193,955 drams, in June of this year, 198335 drams, then in July 2020 this figure increased to 207,705 drams.
Nikol Pashinyan recalled that from April 2020 until now, the government of the country has adopted a number of anti-crisis measures, the purpose of which is to maintain jobs and prevent them from being cut. "These official data confirm the effectiveness of these measures. The given figures are formed solely on the basis of the reports of business entities and are the basis for tax obligations of business entities," the Prime Minister of Armenia stressed.
Recall that the country's government has approved 24 programs to neutralize the economic consequences of COVID-19. Some of these programs have been completed, while others are underway. The main goal of these measures is to maintain jobs and create the foundations for economic development.
