ArmInfo. The Presidents of Armenia and Singapore Armen Sargsyan and Halima Yakob, in a telephone conversation, exchanged information about the situation in the two countries caused by the coronavirus epidemic and the efforts being made to overcome it.
As reported by the RA President's press office, the President of Singapore thanked her Armenian counterpart for Armenia's ratification of the agreement on the Free Trade Zone between the Eurasian Economic Union and Singapore.
In turn, the President of Armenia noted that this will create great opportunities for the development of bilateral and multilateral trade and economic relations. During the telephone conversation, Sargsyan presented the ATOM (Advance TOMorrow) presidential initiative to the President of Singapore, the main goal of which is to make Armenia a regional platform in the field of high technologies and artificial intelligence.
Referring to his initiative to create the Club of Small Successful States, the President of Armenia noted that the program was discussed with the leaders of a number of countries and was approved. The aim of the initiative is to unite small states. Through cooperation and dialogue, small countries will be able to exchange experiences and ideas, develop a vision for the future and help each other. The President of Singapore showed great interest in the idea of creating this Club.
Halima Yakob invited Armen Sargsyan to visit Singapore.
