ArmInfo. The threat of a second wave of coronavirus should never be discounted. Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan stated this on August 12, presenting a draft decision on the extension of the state of emergency for 30 days to the RA National Assembly.
According to him, the state of emergency introduced from March 16 and last extended from 5:00pm on 12 August will continue to operate until 5:00pm on 11 September. At the same time, there are some concessions. In particular, the ban on entry into the country of persons who do not have Armenian citizenship, who, nevertheless, if not hospitalized, undertake to undergo a 14-day quarantine and self- isolate, is lifted. But if within 14 days these persons, having passed the relevant tests, received negative conclusions, the self-isolation regime will change. The ban on holding rallies and hunger strikes is also excluded, which is replaced by a permit with mandatory conditions for maintaining anti-epidemiological standards. In particular, we are talking about wearing masks and maintaining social distance at a distance of at least 1.5 meters. The conditions for holding family and other events, both outdoors and in closed rooms, are facilitated, but no more than 40 people, while maintaining the requirements of the commandant of the state of emergency.
The restrictions on the movement of goods across borders are lifted. The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that some of the relaxation is a logical continuation of the trend towards an improvement in the epidemiological situation in the country. They will continue if the dynamics remain positive. Nevertheless, as the Deputy Prime Minister noted, there is a threat of a second wave of coronavirus, and this threat is associated with the beginning of the educational process in the republic's schools. But even this risk, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, is quite manageable
