ArmInfo. Fortunately, the coronavirus situation in Armenia continues to improve. On August 5, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at a briefing. According to him, since June 4, for the first time in the republic, the number of recovered patients began to prevail over infected ones. To date, this figure has amounted to 8 thousand cases. In almost all indicators, the republic approached the indicators recorded in late May - early June.
However, the problem is that favorable developments have led to bad rumors. Thus, some citizens of Armenia perceived these positive tendencies as a reason not to comply with anti-epidemiological norms.
The situation, according to the Prime Minister, has not yet been overcome, as evidenced by the statistics of the previous day, when 288 new cases of diseases were recorded in the country. Of course, this figure cannot be compared with the figures for July, Nikol Pashinyan continued, but 288 new cases is a huge figure. "The situation continues to be difficult, and if our reaction to it is not proper, Armenia may return to the indicators of early July, when an outbreak of infection was noted," the head of the Armenian government said.
He stated that today in the republic there are the same dangers that they faced in mid-May, when the emphasis was placed on the decentralized struggle, which, according to Nikol Pashinyan, was not as successful as expected. He noted that the maximum result can be expected with the maximum cooperation of all. The government must send clear signals on what to do to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and citizens must respond to these government calls.
Against a positive background, it is necessary to very strictly raise the problem of maintaining anti- epidemiological standards - wearing masks in closed rooms and open areas, maintaining social distance and maintaining hygiene standards. "In reality, we now have the opportunity to overcome this situation, and it depends on each of us," Nikol Pashinyan said.
