Identity of criminal who detonated a grenade near building of  regional police department was established

ArmInfo.The identity of the criminal who detonated a grenade near the administrative building of the Berd department of the Tavush regional department of the RA Police was established.

As a result of urgent investigative and other procedural actions, as  well as operational-search measures, a number of circumstances of the  incident were clarified, including the identity of the alleged  offender - a 40- year-old resident of the city of Berd. He was found,  detained and interrogated on suspicion of illegal acquisition,  storage, carrying of ammunition, deliberate damage to property.

Earlier it was reported that on August 2, 2020, at 4:00 am, on the  territory of the Tsakhkanots park near the administrative building of  the Berd department of the Tavush regional police department of the  RA, an unknown person exploded with the help of an illegally stored  explosive device, as a result of which the walls of the police  building were damaged and glass windows in offices, and significant  property damage.

A criminal case was initiated under clause 1 of part 2 of article 185  (intentional destruction or damage to property) and part 1 of article  235 (illegal acquisition, sale, storage, transportation or carrying  of weapons, ammunition, explosives or explosive devices) of the RA  Criminal Code. An investigation team has been formed; searches were  carried out. During the preliminary investigation, an inspection of  the scene was carried out, during which a grenade ring and its  component were found. The investigation continues.  Measures are  being taken to ensure a comprehensive, objective and complete  investigation of the incident.
