Preliminary investigation on abuses by the son of Manvel Grigoryan  completed

ArmInfo. The Main Directorate for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee completed the preliminary investigation of the criminal  case initiated on the fact of abuses committed by officials in the  municipality of Vagharshapat and its subordinate organizations.

According to the Investigative Committee, within the framework of the  criminal case, a legal assessment was given to the actions of 31  officials, as well as other persons associated with these episodes.  As a result of large-scale investigative and other procedural actions  carried out in pre-trial proceedings, it turned out that Karen  Grigoryan (son of former MP Manvel Grigoryan - ed. note), who from  01.11.2005 - 01.11.2008 was the deputy mayor of Echmiadzin,  01.11.2008-17.06.2018 - the mayor of Echmiadzin, and in 2009 - the  head of the Echmiadzin territorial branch of the NGO `` Union of  Yerkrapah Volunteers '', together with members of the Union board  presidium and a number of heads of structural divisions, committed a  number of criminal acts with the use of official position. This, in  particular, is about Grigoryan's assistance in hiring seven persons  for work in various organizations, who, in fact, without doing their  work, received an amount of AMD 4.489.327, AMD 5.276.579, AMD  2.193.692, AMD 4.838.590 (plus medical insurance payments of AMD  705.640), AMD 8.887.517 (plus AMD 685.410 medical insurance  payments), AMD 1.219.362 and AMD 440.153.

Taking into account these and other abuses, Karen Grigoryan was  charged under paragraph 1 of part 3 of article 38-179 (four  episodes), paragraphs 1 and 3 of part 2 of article 38-179 (two  episodes), paragraph 1 of part 2 of article 38-179 and paragraphs 1  and 3 of part 2 of Article 179 of the RA Criminal Code. The director  of the budgetary institution "Housing and Communal Administration"  was charged under paragraph 1 of part 3 of article 179, paragraphs 1  and 3 of part 2 of article 179 (two episodes), part 1 of article 314  and part 1 of article 308 (three episodes) of the RA Criminal Code.  The director of the budgetary institution "Barekargum" was charged  under paragraph 1 of part 3 of article 179 (two episodes) and  paragraph 1 of part 2 of article 179, part 1 of article 314 (three  episodes). The head of the department of organization and service of  the budgetary institution "Barekargum" was charged under Part 1 of  Article 308 of the RA Criminal Code. The preliminary investigation  has been completed, the criminal case with the indictment has been  sent to the prosecutor supervising the preliminary investigation.

In addition to the damage caused by the above episodes, 25,999,100  drams were recovered from the damage recovered by the episodes  investigated during the preliminary investigation and received a  legal assessment and transferred to the deposit account of the RA  Investigative Committee. With regard to the unrecovered damage in the  amount of 5.5 477.031 AMD, movable property of the accused was  arrested.
