ArmInfo. Armenian Defense Minister David Tonoyan at a meeting with French Ambassador to our country Jonathan Lacote touched upon the Azerbaijani-Turkish joint large- scale exercises that started today.
As the press service of the RA Defense Ministry told ArmInfo, in this context Tonoyan noted that from a purely military point of view, the tactical nature of these exercises does not cause concern, but it is important that they do not develop into provocative actions right at the borders of the Republic of Armenia, defense structures and other infrastructures.
At the same time, he stressed that the Armenian side is closely watching the course of these exercises and the further development of the situation.
It should be noted that Azerbaijani-Turkish large-scale combat and tactical flight exercises with live firing with the participation of the Ground Forces and the Air Force of both countries have started in Azerbaijan today. The joint exercises will involve personnel, armored vehicles, artillery installations and mortars, as well as military aviation and air defense equipment of the armies of the two countries. According to the plan, the exercises with the involvement of the Ground Forces will be held from August 1 to 5 in Baku and Nakhichevan, and the exercises with the participation of military aviation will be held from July 29 to August 10 in Baku, Nakhichevan, Ganja, Kurdamir and Yevlakh.
