ArmInfo. The Armenian Ambassador to Ukraine Tigran Seyranyan, at a meeting with the Deputy Head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Vasil Bodnar, again informed the interlocutor about the tense situation that developed as a result of Azerbaijan's actions on July 12 in the north-eastern direction of the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border, while pointing out the importance of a balanced approach of the international community to these events.
As ArmInfo was told in the press service of the RA Embassy in Ukraine, in turn, the Ukrainian diplomat thanked Ambassador Seyranyan for his message to the Armenian community of the country, which calls for restraint and refraining from provocations. Bodnar added that representatives of different nationalities live peacefully in Ukraine, and "today it is very important to ensure the preservation of the ethnic peace, to prevent confrontation between the Armenian and Azerbaijani communities."
In this regard, Tigran Seyranyan said that from the very beginning of the tension, the Armenian community of Ukraine showed restraint, and the head of the Union of Armenians of Ukraine and the leader of the Armenian Apostolic Church in the country sent corresponding messages to compatriots.
It is also noted that at the meeting topical issues of the bilateral agenda were discussed, an agreement was reached to make efforts to preparation for the meeting of the Armenian-Ukrainian joint intergovernmental commission on economic issues.
During the conversation, Vasil Bodnar officially denied the information disseminated in recent days by various media outlets that Ukrainian citizens are being recruited in the country to participate in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. It should be noted that after the aggravation of the situation on the Armenian- Azerbaijani state border, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry issued a one-sided statement, calling on the parties to restrain. In this regard, the Ukrainian Ambassador to the Republic of Armenia was summoned to the Armenian Foreign Ministry and was informed of the unacceptability of such approaches, which could damage the negotiation process to resolve the conflict. In Ukraine, there were also minor incidents between representatives of the communities of Armenia and Azerbaijan. Later, the media disseminated information about the recruitment of Ukrainians to send them to the war in Nagorno Karabakh.
