Armenia`s NSS reveals another case of bribery by an employee of the  State Revenue Committee during forgery of documents

ArmInfo. Employees of the National Security Service of Armenia revealed another case of large-scale bribery by employees of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) with  forgery of official documents.

So, according to the report of the National Security Service of the  Republic of Armenia, thanks to the large- scale operational and  investigative measures, factual data were obtained that the competent  officials of the customs service of the State Revenue Office of the  Republic of Armenia, contrary to the law adopted on March 1, 2018 "On  the prohibition of the import of vehicles with right-hand drive  placement" , which entered into force on April 1, 2018, and  prohibited importing right-hand drive vehicles into the country,  using their official position out of selfish motives and to the  detriment of official obligations, without the presence of the  circumstances provided for by law, allowed to import right-hand drive  cars and in 2020 carried out their customs clearance. The department  also stressed that moreover, the above customs officers filled out  documents for customs clearance, which included deliberately false  information about the location of the steering wheel, and instead of  the right one, the left one was indicated, as a result of which not  only damage was done to the state, but also citizens' rights were  violated. "We also received factual data that the competent officials  of the RA Police Registration and Examination Departments, being  authorized in the manner prescribed by the RA Government Decree  N-1251 of September 9, 2010, to register vehicles through a single  system - inspection station - place of payment - service hall -  printing and document provision hall, being obliged to inspect  vehicles and compare their real data with documentary ones, in  2019-2020 for registering deliberately false facts about left-hand  steering of cars and the ability to further freely dispose, own or  use them on the territory of the RA, received bribes on a large  scale.

The case was transferred to the Investigation Department of the RA  NSS. Criminal procedural and operational-search measures are being  taken to find out all the persons involved in the criminal scheme and  bring them to justice, "the department informed.
