ArmInfo. On July 27, in front of the building of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, applicants who have not entered universities and their parents hold a protest action. The representatives of the protesters were asked to meet with Deputy Minister Grisha Tamrazyan, but this offer was rejected.
The problem, the protesters point out, is that they were not properly notified of the changes in their respective university applications. So, this year, priority was given to a specific specialty indicated first in the application, as a result of which some applicants who scored high scores could not enter the university indicated by them. The main demand of the protesters is to meet with Minister Arayik Harutyunyan, since previous meetings with the Deputy Minister did not give the expected result. Meanwhile, the representative of the ministry informed that out of those who signed the statement demanding the revision of the USE results, 88 applicants, 64 subsequently applied for participation in the additional stage of the unified state exams, and as a result, 63 of them entered universities. In addition, 4 applicants with high marks agreed to study in the second specialty specified in the preliminary application.
As Minister Arayik Harutyunyan reported earlier, a total of 11979 applicants have applied for participation in the Unified State Exam this year. 11,648 applicants took part in the unified state examination, 9372 applicants received a positive assessment. In total, the number of applicants who received positive marks and did not enter universities is 223, and all of them have the opportunity in September, during the correspondence admission, while maintaining their marks, to submit their applications to universities. Recall that due to the epidemiological situation, this year applicants took the Unified State Exam in only one subject of their choice.
