ArmInfo. The Moscow Cultural and Business Center (MKDC) "HOUSE OF MOSCOW" in Yerevan on July 24-29 initiated a cycle of onlinҐ events "Days of Aivazovsky". The initiative is timed to the performance on July 29 of the great Armenian marine painter Hovhannes (Ivan) Aivazovsky 203 years old.
According to the press service of the House, within the framework of the program, in cooperation with the Feodosia Art Gallery named after I.K. Aivazovsky and the National Picture Gallery of Armenia, virtual tours, lectures, a quiz and acquaintance with the descendants of Aivazovsky are planned. <Hovhannes Aivazovsky was born in Feodosia, in an Armenian family. The marine painter is a symbol of the Armenian-Russian friendship, his art unites all peoples. 200 years later, airports are named after him, monuments are erected and much more. The artist left a large creative legacy, which is rightfully part of the treasury of world culture, "said Vahram Karapetyan, Director General of the Moscow House of Moscow ICDC in Yerevan.
In July, the Feodosia Art Gallery named after I.K. Aivazovsky is often crowded - it is visited not only by tourists, but also by the residents of the city. Hovhannes Aivazovsky is a symbol and a visiting card of Feodosia, all city signs lead to the house of the marine painter, which has now turned into a museum- gallery. This year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the ICDC "HOUSE OF MOSCOW" in Yerevan made it possible, in an online format, to get acquainted with the life and work of the marine painter, with his creative heritage. The virtual tour will be conducted by the director of the Feodosia Art Gallery named after I.K. Aivazovsky Tatiana Gaiduk.
"Of course, nothing can replace direct live communication with art, especially in the case of Aivazovsky's works, but this is a great opportunity to enjoy the artist's magnificent works," said the gallery's director Tatiana Gaiduk.
As part of the Aivazovsky Days events, the descendants of the great artist from Australia, Great Britain, Russia, and the United States will congratulate their great-grandfather on his 203rd birthday in their video messages and tell interesting stories.
