The Hayastan All-Armenian Fund has initiated a pan- Armenian fundraising campaign for the implementation of the Empowering Remote Border Communities Program, aimed at solving the most acute socio-economic problems of border communities. In this regard, the President of the Republic of Armenia, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund Armen Sarkissian made an appeal.
As reported by the press service of the RA President, in his address Armen Sarkissian noted that the recent hostilities on the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border again prompt everyone to unite around the Motherland, to concentrate efforts on its protection and strengthening. The President stressed that, being the target of aggressive actions for decades, the residents of Armenia's border communities stand firm on their land and "have become our staunch border guards." "The border settlements are of strategic importance for the security of Armenia and Artsakh, therefore, security, economic and social assistance to these communities is a national priority," the President said.
He called on all statesmen, not indifferent leaders, parties, organizations and individuals in Armenia, members of the Board of Trustees of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund to direct all their potential to fundraising using the capabilities of the Fund.
Money transfers can be made through the website of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund www.himnadram.org through a special platform created for this initiative or bank accounts, as well as by contacting representatives of the Fund's local organizations in Diaspora organizations to transfer funds to the Fund through these channels. "The homeland begins with border communities. Today, residents of border communities need our support as a united pan-Armenian family. Let's strengthen our border communities through joint efforts," Armen Sarkissian said.
It should be reminded that on July 20, the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund announced the start of fundraising to strengthen the border communities. "We will not be broken, we will not surrender, this is our home, our land, our age-old right. They destroy, we build," the Fund said in a statement. The report also noted that the border communities are of strategic importance for the security of Armenia and Artsakh, therefore, economic and social assistance to these communities is a national priority. The entire amount raised will be targeted to address the most pressing socio-economic problems of border communities, starting with the reconstruction of damaged houses, providing communities with renewable energy and drinking water, providing social assistance to affected communities, strengthening hospitals, to providing schoolchildren with the necessary tools for distance education.
