Forecast: Only territorial losses can stop Baku

In my opinion, only the prospect of a clear understanding of the inevitability of territorial losses is capable of stopping the aggressive urges of the  military-political leadership of Azerbaijan. Ara Papyan, head of the  analytical center Modus Vivendi, expressed this opinion to ArmInfo.

"In this light, the replacement by Armenian Defense Minister David  Tonoyan of the formula" territory for peace "with the formula" new  war - new territories "looks quite logical and justified. Creation of  small mobile military units in our Armed Forces capable of operating  behind enemy lines means that we are moving from defense to  counterattack. Which, in my opinion, is also quite justified, "he  stressed.  Noting that the new units of the Armenian army, in the  event of penetration into the enemy's rear, are capable of inflicting  enormous harm, Papyan stressed that the victims among the Azerbaijani  military are unable to stop the aggressiveness of the Azerbaijani  leadership. He is convinced that this is possible only by taking away  new territories from Azerbaijan.

"The same release by our servicemen of an important combat position  on the Tavush section of the border will undoubtedly play a deterrent  role in further actions of the enemy in this section. As soon as they  begin to understand that each attack will be accompanied by the loss  of one or two hills, combat positions, possibly settlement, they will  start thinking before each such attack, "he stressed.

Human losses, losses of military equipment of the Azerbaijani Armed  Forces, according to Papyan, will change nothing. In turn, the  Armenian diplomacy, in his opinion, must do everything so that the  world knows that the losses of Azerbaijan are solely a consequence of  punitive operations, and not the attacks of the Armenian Armed Forces  on Azerbaijani positions.

The clashes initiated by the Azerbaijani army on July 12 on the  Tavush section of the border with Armenia have led to the loss of  more than 20 people killed by the Azerbaijani armed forces, three  tanks, the destruction and capture of 13 drones, and the capture of a  combat position of the Azerbaijani armed forces.
