ArmInfo. Armenian healthcare system must be ready for any regime of state of emergency. The lawmaker from the "My Step" faction Narek Zeynalyan stated this at a meeting of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on July 16, who submitted amendments to the law "On Medical Assistance and Public Services" adopted by the National Assembly in the second and final reading.
As the author of the bill noted, it is proposed to add one chapter to the law - the organization of medical care and services for citizens in emergency situations, which is proposed to provide for public health plans approved by the government. It is also recorded that every 5 years they should be reviewed. "Under the emergency conditions, the procedure for medical care for the population should be established, which the government must approve no later than within 48 hours after the approval of the regime," Zeynalyan said. According to him, the health care system should be able to solve two problems - the organization of medical care for affected citizens and the continuation of the medical care process.
He noted that, according to WHO, during the period of the coronavirus pandemic, in many countries in 53% of cases there were problems with the treatment of patients with high blood pressure, 49% - diabetes mellitus, 42% - malignant tumors. "If the system is not ready for an emergency, then there will be problems both in treating the injured and current diseases. It is planned that the existence of such clear plans will help to resolve the situation," Zeynalyan said.
