"After the recent clashes between the Azerbaijani and Armenian forces, the Iranian foreign minister today, in separate telephone conversations with the ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia, announced Iran's readiness to help end tensions, urging the parties to restraint and advising us to start negotiations on a peaceful resolution of the contradictions," the Iranian Foreign Ministry said reports IRNA.
The source also recalls that earlier the head of the presidential administration of Iran, Mahmoud Vaesi, said that the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia threatens the interests of the two countries and stability in the region.
"A political solution to the issue, taking into account the interests of the parties and their territorial integrity, is the only solution to the crisis," - Vaesi wrote on his Twitter. At the same time, he emphasized that Tehran is always ready to provide support in promoting the settlement of the conflict.
