ArmInfo. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan today received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Armenia Igor Nazaruk, who is completing his diplomatic mission.
The Prime Minister praised the Ambassador's efforts to develop the Armenian-Belarusian relations during his tenure and wished him success in his future activities. According to Nikol Pashinyan, there is a high level of dialogue between the leaders of the countries, traditional friendly relations have developed between the peoples, which are a solid support for their continuous development and full realization of the existing potential in Armenia.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of an open dialogue and reliable partnership between the two countries within the framework of CSTO and EAEU integration unions. Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the importance of the constructive position of the CSTO partners in relation to the provocative actions of Azerbaijan on the Armenian- Azerbaijani border. As for cooperation within the EAEU, in this direction, according to Nikol Pashinyan, there is great potential for the development of economic ties, consistent work is being carried out that will really increase mutual trade and investment.
The Ambassador of Belarus thanked Prime Minister Pashinyan for his high appreciation, noting that he made every effort to strengthen ties between the two countries. According to him, the volume of bilateral trade during this period has more than doubled, which indicates the positive dynamics of cooperation and bilateral readiness to deepen it. The ambassador mentioned current and promising programs, speaking with satisfaction about the creation of the Armenian- Belarusian forest off the shores of Lake Sana'a.
He noted the forthcoming resumption of the work of the Armenian- Belarusian intergovernmental commission. Igor Nazaruk noted that Armenia and Belarus are conducting an effective political dialogue - developing partnerships within the framework of integration associations. The ambassador mentioned cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the EAEU, in this regard, the possibility of holding a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in the near future.
The Ambassador of Belarus to the Republic of Armenia expressed concern over the tense situation on the Armenian- Azerbaijani border and condemned the escalation. The interlocutors exchanged information and experience on combating the spread of coronavirus infection, preventive measures, expressing confidence that joint efforts will help to overcome the epidemic crisis.
The Ambassador of Belarus also expressed his respect and love for Armenia, the Armenian people, its rich culture, noting that he would warmly recall the years of his diplomatic mission in Armenia.
Prime Minister Pashinyan thanked Ambassador Nazaruk for his kind words, emphasizing that he will remain a good friend of Armenia and the Armenian people.
