In connection with the shelling of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces in the border community of Chinari, Tavush region of Armenia, the Office of the Ombudsman of Armenia will prepare and send a new report to international structures. In addition, it is reported that photos taken after the shelling, which indicate damage to the community, were transferred to the Ombudsman's office from Chinari.
The office of the human rights defender also referred to a report by the RA Ministry of Defense that the village was shot from 82 mm mortars (7 shells), 120 mm grenade launchers (3 shells), as a result of which the lives of civilians were put at risk. According to the report, the RA Ombudsman continues to monitor the situation and collect facts to prepare a report, which will be sent to international structures.
The human rights defender strongly condemned the shelling of the civilian population, which he said was absolutely reprehensible, especially in the context of a new type of coronavirus epidemic (COVID-19).
