ArmInfo. The Prosperous Armenia Party Political Council strongly condemns the authorities' attempts to carry out political persecution and avenge the leader and PAP members. This is stated in the statement of the party received in ArmInfo.
The statement also notes that it all started with a speech by Gagik Tsarukyan on June 5, 2020, in which the latter noted all the omissions of the Armenian authorities. <In particular, Tsarukyan noted the shameful socio-economic indicators, the situation of sectors of the economy that are on the verge of collapse, a huge increase in unemployment, a fiasco to combat the epidemic, and unforgivable tension in relations with a strategic ally. After this statement and the demands of the head of the PAP on the resignation of the government against the party, political persecution began>, the statement says.
Representatives of the PAP political council emphasize that, without political counterarguments, the government crossed all the moral red lines, and today it openly violates the human rights and the rights of the deputy and citizen to the inviolability of his private life.
<Armenia, which is a member of the Council of Europe and numerous European structures, rudely impedes the work of deputies and politicians. The country's leadership is trying to silence PAP, and as an act of retaliation publishes personal notes of party members, which is a gross violation of international conventions. In the history of independent Armenia, there have never been such "rules of the game" - even in the most difficult political relations, personal life, family, children were untouchable topics.
Instead of solving the important social problems facing the country in these difficult times, the government used all its resources and the industry, which spent huge government funds, to organize immoral political revenge against the PAP leader and the deputies from this party. We urge international and human rights organizations not to leave unanswered this immoral campaign launched by the government against deputies and politicians of Armenia, since the path chosen by the government is the shortest path to dictatorship>, the statement emphasizes.
In conclusion, the political council of the Prosperous Armenia party calls on all political and social circles, civil and conscious society to realize that this is not a matter of political views. This is another question - the question of the dignity and privacy of a person.
"Express your indignation and let us all reject the desperate attempts to discredit people and families," the statement emphasizes.
