ArmInfo. Armenian Minister of Defense David Tonoyan met with a delegation led by the head of the Yerevan office of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Claire Meitro.
As reported by ArmInfo in the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, the interlocutors touched upon current issues of the interaction of the Armenian defense department with the ICRC, planned events, opportunities to increase the effectiveness of cooperation and upcoming activities.
The parties touched upon the fate of RA citizens Karen Ghazaryan and Ara Ghazaryan, who unwittingly ended up in captivity in Azerbaijan, indicating the importance of coordinated activities of the ICRC Yerevan and Baku offices to regularly visit them and ensure the exchange of letters with relatives.
Tonoyan and Meitro touched upon issues related to clarifying the fate of persons missing as a result of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as well as other tasks related to coordinating the work of the Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons of Armenia and the ICRC.
In conclusion, the head of the Armenian defense department thanked the head of the ICRC's Yerevan office for contributing to the efforts of the Government of the Republic of Armenia in the fight against a new type of coronavirus.
