ArmInfo. Prosecutor General of Armenia Arthur Davtyan praised e employees of the Prosecutor's Office for their political neutrality and resilience to all kinds of attempts to unbalance them.
In his congratulatory address to the workers of the body on the occasion of the 102nd anniversary of the founding of the prosecution authorities, Davtyan expressed regret that he could not hold a solemn celebration because of the pandemic and noted that prosecutors continue to fight crime in these conditions.
Davtyan thanked the staff for their consistency in the establishment of the rule of law, the main feature of which is the rule of law, for honest performance of professional and official duties in the face of enormous workload and responsibility, for the patience and for the sacrifices that their family members bear with them. <In the new decade, the Prosecutor's Office should fully play the role of a unique <think tank> for the modernization of criminal policy. We have already laid the foundation for this, and we must take the initiative to amend legislative acts and petitions drawn up on the basis of international law,> he stressed.
Davtyan noted that prosecutors should also work towards increasing the level of public confidence in the body. According to the Prosecutor General, a balance should be struck between public and private interests. "One of our main priorities is to ensure unity, predictability and certainty in the field of criminal justice," he noted in particular.
<We are proud to have assumed responsibility for the return to international obligations and the law that have been stolen from the state for many years. There should be no doubt that in the process of restoring social justice, prosecutors will be impartial and decisive. We are at the center of the irreversible process of eliminating corruption criminal schemes in various fields>, the Prosecutor General said.
He also said that no person or politician should be able to use public resources for personal gain and should not attempt to influence state authorities. According to the Prosecutor General, in the new Armenia it is necessary to consistently fight with all sorts of manifestations of the criminal subculture.
