ArmInfo. Alen Simonyan, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, said that he had discussed the issue related to the fate of Russian television channels with Ambassador of Russia to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin.
Simonyan emphasized that there is a system, by means of the multiplexer channels, the coverage of which is a very small part of the ether, only a few percent. <All over the world, TV channels of other countries are not included in multiplexes, even if we are talking about union states. In our case, several Russian TV channels, as well as CNN, were included in the multiplex systems. In principle, it is rather unusual that a foreign language channel is included in the multiplex. But the desire to be included in the multiplex should be shown not only by us, but also by Russian television channels, that is, the process cannot be one-sided. Currently, the Armenian Foreign Ministry is working on the issue of including All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (shortly VGTRK) channels in the Armenian multiplex>, the Deputy Speaker concluded.
