French environmentalist of Armenian descent Jeanne Barseghian heads  Strasbourg

ArmInfo. Jeanne Barseghian, French environmentalist and politician of Armenian descent, was elected mayor of Strasbourg.

According to the results of the vote, Barseghian secured the support  of 42.5% of voters. 39-year-old Barseghian leads the list of the  French party "Ecology - Green Party".

To recall, on October 5, 2019, the caucus elected Barseghian as the  head of the list of the Strasbourg Ecologist and Citizen bloc in the  elections to the city municipality in March 2020.  Jeanne Barseghian  was born in the Paris region, but in 2002 she moved to Strasbourg.  There she studied Franco-German law, becoming an environmental  lawyer. As an eco-activist, Barseghian participated in many  environmental projects. One of them was the Living Rhine project,  which aims to revitalize the Rhine ecosystem.
