ArmInfo. 82 families of Armenian refugees from Azerbaijan, who had not find another place to live for 30 years, received certificates for the purchase of housing worth 1.66 billion drams. This was reported by the press service of the Migration Service of Armenia. Certificates were provided as part of the II stage of the program for issuing certificates for the purchase of apartments by refugees from Azerbaijan.
It is reported that the documents of 122 refugee families under Phase I of the program, which still have not received certificates, are under consideration by a specially created interdepartmental commission. In order to reduce the risks of the spread of coronavirus infection, given that the beneficiaries are mainly elderly people, the Migration Service officers personally deliver certificates at the place of residence.
To recall, on May 27 this year, the Government adopted a draft decision on the implementation of the program stage, according to which 185 families will receive certificates for the purchase of apartments with a total value of 2.1 billion drams. To note, in the framework of stage I of the program, 112 families were provided with housing certificates.
In total, 1.5 billion drams were allocated for these purposes in 2019. Certificates for the purchase of apartments are provided based on the relevant government decision of December 27, 2018. The program involves families of refugees who live in private hostels and hotels, which puts them at the prospect of losing their homes at any time in the absence of effective legal mechanisms for their protection. Thus, within the framework of the program, the housing issues of families deported from Azerbaijan are step by step and finally resolved in the administrative destrects of Yerevan.
