ArmInfo. The remarks made by me yesterday do not concern investigators and prosecutors who possess brilliant legal knowledge and are endowed with high principles and morals. This is stated in a statement circulated by the head of the Supreme Judicial Council Ruben Vardazaryan.
It should be noted that on the eve of June 23, in the course of an interview with "Shant" TV channel, Vardazaryan touched upon the issue of distrust in the society of the judicial power. The latter noted: "We have not very competent investigative bodies and inadequate prosecutorial oversight," and that the latter literally "throw to the court" poorly investigated cases. He also stated that "we have no illiterate judges." Already today, the investigating authorities expressed their indignation in connection with this statement by the head of the SJC. Vardazaryan, in his new statement, emphasized that he treats the representatives of the investigating authorities with deep respect. "In my statement, I did not make this generalization in order to offend anyone, I did it in order for representatives of these structures to draw the appropriate conclusions. No one has the right to belittle the work of the preliminary investigation bodies. I pointed out problems as in investigative authorities and the judicial system. And you, in your statement, noting that unprofessional personnel are caught in the preliminary investigation bodies, actually confirm my concerns, "Vardazaryan emphasized.
The head of the SJC noted that throughout his work in the state legal system, he always openly expressed his appreciation to the devoted people of the judicial system. "Therefore, it is unfair to accuse me of having chosen someone as a target," he said.
The post-script (PS) reads: "Dear colleagues from the investigating authorities and prosecutors, I urge you to move to a professional level, to work constructively, publicly and effectively to overcome the problems facing the judicial system in the name of the Republic of Armenia and the Armenian people> . Recall that today the investigating authorities harshly criticized Vardazaryan's statement yesterday. They expressed the hope that the latter would apologize, as he insulted hundreds of investigators and prosecutors with his statement.
