ArmInfo.A number of organizations issued a statement calling on the authorities to step up the fight against the former corruption regime, which, under the flag of the opposition, is trying to undermine the sovereignty of Armenia.
Due to the lack of a political and legal assessment of the long-term consequences of state capture, which affected national security, the economy and foreign policy, representatives of the previous regime not only avoid responsibility by covering up crimes against the constitutional system and the state and presenting criminal cases as political persecution, but also hide under the name of "opposition" and, united, demonstrate undisguised claims to seize power.
At the same time, supporters of the previous regime continue to remain in different branches and structures of the current government, and the unforgivable delay of steps aimed at systemic reforms gives these forces the opportunity to devalue from within the state administration all efforts aimed at restoring a democratic and legal state.
In contrast to this consolidation of forces, the political force, which has an absolute majority in the National Assembly, directs its efforts to short-term steps, slowing down the fundamental decision on urgent and pressing problems for months (the crisis around the Constitutional Court and the entire judicial system), which can turn into a serious political a crisis. The Constitutional Court has shown on numerous examples that it is able to impede the administration of justice and the reform of the judicial system, recognizing as unconstitutional the legal paths that threaten the personal inviolability or inviolability of the property of former officials, as well as ousting the criminal oligarchic system from politics.
Thus, we urge the authorities to take the initiative immediately to give a political and legal assessment of past violations, and make the transition from short-term steps to the implementation of strategic goals, with the ultimate goal of administering justice, establishing a real separation of powers, the independence of the judiciary and appropriate parliamentary control mechanisms. Despite the disagreements that arose due to the indecision of the current authorities, nonetheless, civil society, which considers democracy an unconditional goal, will devote all its efforts to ensuring the continuity of the revolutionary processes and the final approval of the values of the revolution, "the statement said.
