ArmInfo. This morning, a meeting of the parliamentary council was held, at which it was announced that an extraordinary parliamentary meeting would be convened at 13:00 on June 22 to discuss the issue of amending the Constitution. This was announced at a briefing on June 22 by the chairman of the Enlightened Armenia parliamentary faction Edmond Marukyan.
Marukyan said that he understood the following: <The bill will be presented in the first reading, we will be given about 3 hours to make proposals, then I will vote for this draft in the second reading. As you know, all over the world, when a decision is made to amend the Constitution, work lasts for months. Public hearings, debates, disputes and discussions are held. In Armenia, everything happens differently. That is, in the morning you will find out that there is a proposal to change the Constitution and in the afternoon this change is carried out. This is a serious problem, including from the point of view of the undertaken obligations>, the deputy emphasized.
The head of the PA also said that his faction has not yet decided to participate in an extraordinary parliamentary meeting or not. <Considering all the haste of this decision, as well as the fact that, in all likelihood, our participation will be meaningless, most representatives of the faction are determined not to participate in the meeting, "Marukyan stressed.
Note that on June 22 at 13:00 an extraordinary meeting of the parliament will be convened, at which the issue of amending the Constitution of the country will be discussed.
