ArmInfo. Lithuanian specialists departed to Yerevan to assist Armenia in the fight against a new type of coronavirus. ArmInfo was informed about this in the press service of the RA Embassy in Lithuania.
According to the report, in addition to 8 medical workers and 3 specialists, 30,000 tests for coronavirus and 60,000 containers of test samples, as well as 20,000 Lithuanian-made air filters will be sent to Armenia.
Before sending aid, a press conference was held at the airport, during which Minister of Health of Lithuania of Lithuania Aurelijus Veryga noted that the Lithuanian side is proud that it has the opportunity to provide assistance to Armenia in this difficult period.
Veryga also emphasized that three specialists were sent to Armenia with medical personnel who had been working in the coordination headquarters since the first days of the crisis in connection with the coronavirus pandemic and had made a great contribution to curbing the epidemic in Lithuania.
In turn, Ambassador of Armenia to Lithuania Tigran Mkrtchyan thanked the Lithuanian government and all involved bodies, noting that the official Vilnius was the first to respond to the call to send medical personnel to Armenia, and the only one who provided state support for the second time.
