It should be noted that yesterday the leader of the Prosperous Armenia party and the faction of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, oligarch Gagik Tsarukyan, leaving the NSS building, where he was under interrogation for almost 9 hours, he went to his comrades-in-arms and members of media who were waiting for him. After the journalists began the briefing and filming, the police resorted to vigorous action, as a result of which a stampede began, journalists were injured, and professional equipment was damaged.
"Upon instruction of the police chief, the incident will be studied. However, it should be recalled that the police always take urgent actions in the area of mass events in order to ensure public order. Those in charge warn the participants of the event, and journalists are advised to take such a position so as not to interfere with the police and their work, "the agency said in a statement, which also emphasizes that the police greatly appreciate the professional efforts of journalists to provide the public with timely information and believe that the media are a full partner in ensuring public order. "Therefore, we again ask you to listen to our call to continue cooperation between the police and the media in order to ensure public order, the safety of our citizens and the unconditional fulfillment of all our professional duties," the RA Police said in a statement.
To recall, on the morning of June 14, NSS officers searched the mansion of Gagik Tsarukyan in the Arinj community (Kotayk region), then he was summoned for interrogation, which lasted more than nine hours. The NSS initiated several criminal cases involving Gagik Tsarukyan. The criminal cases relate to illegal entrepreneurial activity, bribe schemes during the election process in Armenia, identifying a criminal scheme under the ''New'' company operating the Arinj Mall. The oligarch himself said that he considers the allegations cited by the investigation to be fabricated and have obvious political implications. He stated that the reason was his criticism of the current government of Armenia, and noted that the government was "on the path of terror against opponents", that he had already made his choice and was "ready for any scenario."
