ArmInfo. The factions of the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh issued a statement in connection with the statements of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and three deputies of the European Parliament regarding the construction of a road linking Artsakh with Armenia.
We also reaffirm the commitment of the Republic of Artsakh to a peaceful settlement of the Azerbaijani- Karabakh conflict within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group and attach importance to the full participation of official Stepanakert in all stages of the negotiation process.
At the same time, we note that the aforementioned statement of the three deputies of the European Parliament is very subjective and biased in nature, and such approaches, as experience has shown, have always had a negative impact on efforts aimed at maintaining peace and stability in our region, in the direction of which The co-chairing countries of the OSCE Minsk Group have been operating for many years.
The subjective approach of the aforementioned deputies is also evidenced by the fact that Azerbaijan's aggressive and hateful policy has never received any reaction from them.
We urge parliamentary structures, public and political figures to condemn any such step, strictly following the norms and principles of international law>, the statement said.
We add that on June 10, members of the European Parliament adopted a joint statement by the chairman of the delegation, Marina Kalyurand, European Parliament's permanent rapporteur on Armenia Traian Basescu, European Parliament's permanent rapporteur on Zhelyana Zovko, who criticized the construction of a new highway between Armenia and Artsakh. Recall that the project to build the 150-km Kapan-Hadrut road was announced last summer.
