ArmInfo. In Armenia, the state of emergency will be extended for another month in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic. The decision on this was made at an extraordinary meeting of the RA government.
According to RA Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan, the current decision of the Cabinet of Ministers will be the third in a row. Since March 16, when the state of emergency was first introduced in the country, the number of infected persons has increased to 14,639 people. This fact is concrete evidence of the need to extend the state of emergency. Thus, as the Minister stated, the regime is introduced from 5:00pm on June 13 and will remain in effect until 5:00pm on July 13. At the same time, the draft decision, which has yet to be approved by the country's parliament, introduces restrictions on administrative acts of the Judicial Acts Compulsory Enforcement Service. During the State of Emergency, the Service will not apply administrative acts in order to exclude social tension. In her turn, RA Deputy Minister of Justice Anahit Avanesyan informed that over the past day 628 new cases of coronavirus incidence have been detected in the country, 173 citizens have recovered, 13 cases of death have been recorded. At present, as the deputy minister noted, 6 thousand people are under home supervision, 1800 under the supervision of hospitals, the health status of 425 patients is classified as severe, 100 as extremely severe, 27 people are connected to ventilation devices.
RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that as soon as positive dynamics are observed, control over anti-epidemiological norms is weakening in the country. As a result, the increase in the number of infected in 7-14 days. After 1-2 days of positive signals, an outbreak occurs again, indicating a lack of social behavior. The RA Prime Minister again called on the citizens of the country to maintain the norm of behavior - to wear masks, maintain social distance and often wash their hands. He also pointed out the need to strengthen the administrative resource in relation to violators of the state of emergency. To recall, in Armenia for the first time the state of emergency was introduced on March 16. However, then it was extended for a month in April, May and now in June.
