Arsen Torosyan: Situation with coronavirus remains acute

ArmInfo. The situation with  coronavirus continues to be acute.  The Minister of Health of the  Republic of Armenia Arsen Torosyan stated this during a government  meeting on June 11.

At the same time, he emphasized that this is compensated by  empowerment of the health system of RA.  "However, this does not mean  that we should not strengthen our control measures. This is necessary  in order to manage the situation for as long as possible and as a  result achieve decline'', the minister said. In this regard, Torosyan  called for tightening control over the observance of sanitary and  epidemiological rules, both among ordinary citizens and economic  entities.

Torosyan also noted that as of yesterday, the healthcare system of  the Republic of Armenia had a stable load in terms of beds, and there  are vacant places in large intensive care units.

At the same time, he said that in the last 24 hours, 566 new cases of  infection with coronavirus have been recorded, instead of 428  recorded on the previous day. At the same time, as Torosyan  continued, 2233 tests were carried out, instead of 1751 a day  earlier, of which 25% of the tested had a positive result, against  24% (a day earlier). The total number of deaths reached 245, 18 cases  were recorded yesterday alone.  According to him, at present, 500  patients in Armenia are in serious and extremely serious condition.  In addition, the Minister of Health noted that as of 09:00am on June  11, 32 patients need hospitalization, of whom 4 are at home, and 28  in different hospitals, and they would soon be transferred to  departments reassigned for COVID-2019 treatment.

In turn, Prime Minister Nikol Pashiyan noted that compliance with  sanitary and epidemiological rules continues to be the main means of  the government to reduce the number of infected people. In this  regard, he noted that the current level of discipline will affect the  dynamics of cases of infection next week. "I want to again urge  everyone to observe sanitary and epidemiological rules, wear masks,  constantly disinfect their hands and maintain social distance,"  Pashinyan said, stressing that 95% of cases of infection depend  solely on the level of compliance with the above requirements.

Noting that the current government was formed through mass  cooperation with the public, the Prime Minister emphasized that this  problem with the coronavirus can be solved only through cooperation  between the government and the society. "All macro problems that we  have decided and must solve will be based on the same formula - large  cooperation between the government and the public, which should be  displayed through the establishment and observance of sanitary and  epidemiological rules," he said. At the same time, the Prime Minister  recalled that, if necessary, penalties should be applied.

At the same time, Pashinyan emphasized that one of the important  conceptual tasks is to use the crisis as an opportunity to achieve  deep and meaningful changes, as a result of which it will be possible  to increase the civic education level of the population.
