ArmInfo. The governor of Kotayk region Romanos Petrosyan found it incomprehensible the reasons whyhead of the Prosperous Armenia party Gagik Tsarukyan made a statement about the need to change the government.
In an interview with reporters, Petrosyan said: "I believe that it is perfectly acceptable to make statements about the resignation of the government and criticize the authorities, however, this should not be done during the coronavirus pandemic. It would be much more correct to come forward with constructive criticism or with your proposals>.
The governor recalled that earlier the PAP was in a coalition with the previous authorities represented by the Republican Party of Armenia and shares responsibility with the RPA for all the mistakes made. To remark that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had also signed a memorandum of cooperation, Petrosyan said: "At that time, we thought that the situation could change, and the PAP would change, but our hopes did not materialize."
The governor also did not rule out the possibility of holding snap elections in Abovyan, the mayor of which Vahagn Ghorgyan was supported by the Prosperous Armenia Party. <In my opinion, perhaps subjectively, the PAP does not have such support among the people so that they can carry out a change of power. And we have repeatedly stated that the power in Armenia will continue to belong to the people, "the governor of Kotayk region concluded.
It should be noted that last week the head of the Prosperous Armenia party Tsarukyan announced that the government should resign. After that, the screenshots of the criminal case appeared in the Haykakan Zhamanak newspaper, according to which Tsarukyan was convicted of rape in 1979. To recall, 22 years later in 2001, already an oligarch and business partner of tRobert Kocharyan family, Tsarukyan was acquitted.
