ArmInfo. On June 9, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan introduced the newly appointed head of the law enforcement body, Colonel Vahe Ghazaryan, to the leadership of the Armenian Police.
The Prime Minister noted that today the priority is to fight against coronavirus, and over the past three months the RA Police has carried out significant work in this direction. Pashinyan emphasized that these activities aimed at monitoring the implementation of anti-epidemiological rules should be continued in the future. The head of the Cabinet of Ministers pointed out that the quality of the police's work directly affects the relations of the head of state with citizens, in connection with which he urged the police to perceive themselves as representatives of the Prime Minister, who demonstrate unshakable power with offenders and give ordinary citizens a sense of security.
Poshinyan pointed out that, having come to power, he set himself the task of ensuring the stability of power bodies by giving all employees of the police the opportunity to adapt to new realities and new values.
Now, he said, it's time to take stock and understand who took advantage of this opportunity, and who did not. It particularly concerns issues of adequate encouragement and promotion on the basis of work done, not acquaintances. ''Those who put work, professionalism and dedication in the first place should feel that they are valued. The rest must now go their own way, and they have no place in the Police>, he stressed, urging to pay special attention to the productivity of work in the name of the future of Armenia and Artsakh.
To recall, yesterday Armenian President Armen Sarkissian signed decrees according to which the director of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia, Eduard Martirosyan, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Artak Davtyan, and the Chief of the Police, Arman Sargsyan, left their posts. The Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan addressed the President with a proposal to relieve the above heads of power bodies from their posts. By other decrees, the President of Armenia appointed Onik Gasparyan as the new Chief of the General Staff (he previously held the post of Deputy Head of the General Staff), Argishti Kyaramyan as the director of the National Security Service, and Vahe Ghazaryan as the Chief of the Police.
