ArmInfo. The National Council of the Austrian Parliament yesterday unanimously ratified the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement between Armenia and the European Union. This was reported by the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry.
According to the source, during the discussion of the document submitted for ratification, the head of the Austria-South Caucasus Parliamentary Friendship Group, Gudrun Kugler praised the recent democratic changes in Armenia, noting that Armenia and Austria adhere to the same Christian value system, and ratification of the Agreement will allow even more develop bilateral friendly ties. He also noted that the Agreement is of great importance in creating a solid legal basis for cooperation between the EU and Armenia. According to him, the document can contribute to stability and prosperity throughout the region, improve the investment environment, which can be used by Armenian and European entrepreneurs, including small and medium-sized businesses.
To note, out of the 28 EU countries, 22 have already ratified the agreement. The document was signed on November 24, 2017 and ratified by the Armenian parliament on April 11, 2018.
