ArmInfo. Former Director of the National Security Service (NSS) Arthur Vanetsyan is in the Special Investigation Service (CCC) of Armenia.
He told Azatutyun that he was called to the CCC in connection with the statement of the former Armenian ambassador to the Vatican, Mikael Minasyan.
When asked whether he met with Minasyan as a courier, the former head of the NSS assured that he acted exclusively within his official powers. When asked whether Minasyan refused him or not, Vanetsyan answered: "I will come out and answer all the questions."
It should be noted that in a video published earlier, ex-president Serzh Sargsyan's son-in-law Mikael Minasyan claimed that Arthur Vanetsyan, when he was director of the NSS, had met with him in Rome on behalf of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and offered him a deal. According to Minasyan, Pashinyan through Vanetsyan invited him to pay a symbolic amount to the state, leave the political field and refrain from returning to Armenia for some time, in addition, instruct the persons connected with him to stop the fight against Pashinyan. According to Mikael Minasyan, he rejected this offer. The fact that Vanetsyan was summoned to the CCC as part of a criminal case instituted on the basis of Minasyan's statements, said the lawyer of the former head of the NSS, Lusine Sahakyan, on May 7.
