Expert: The growth of cases of coronavirus is connected, among other  things, with the expansion of laboratory capabilities

ArmInfo.The increase in cases of coronavirus is also related to the expansion of laboratory capabilities. This was stated by the head of the department of  epidemiology of infectious diseases of the National Center for  Disease Control and Prevention Liana Torosyan at a May 25 press  conference.

"In recent days, an increase in the number of new cases of  coronavirus has been recorded, which, according to epidemiological  analysis, is associated in particular with the expansion of  laboratory capabilities, including in the regional context," she  noted. According to her, there have been cases with wide geographical  coverage, and among the foci of distribution of the coronavirus, for  example, families and individual business entities were recorded.  "Unfortunately, some cases were the result of the activities we  carried out in specific communities, when one event subsequently grew  like a snowball, capturing other communities and forming new foci,"  Torosyan said.

The expert emphasized that preventive measures are carried out in all  areas and communities, however, in this case, the personal  responsibility of each citizen is also important, in connection with  which she urged to follow the rules established by the Commandant and  the Ministry of Health. This applies to maintaining social distance,  wearing masks, washing hands frequently and disinfecting rooms. In  addition, Torosyan strongly advises against attending work in the  event of disturbing symptoms. Danger may be participation in mass  events, some of which have previously become the focus of the spread  of COVID-19.  According to the latest data, a total of 7113 cases of  coronavirus were detected in Armenia, 3145 patients recovered, 87  died.
