ArmInfo. After 7-10 days, asymptomatic patients with coronavirus will be transferred to home treatment. The head of the RA Ministry of Health Arsen Torosyan informed about this during a live broadcast on Facebook.
The Minister recalled that Armenia has so far continued the policy of isolating asymptomatic patients in quarantine zones, meanwhile, only several countries of the world exercise this practice today. In addition, if previously people in contact with patients with coronavirus were isolated in hotels in the republic, now they are sent to home isolation.
So far, asymptomatic patients continue to be in quarantined hotels, however, as noted by Torosyan, this is temporary. So, if in Armenia about 150 new cases of COVID-19 and 70 cases of recovery are recorded daily, then after 7-10 days the country will switch to treatment of asymptomatic patients at home. In case of growth of indicators of new cases, this period will come earlier. Thus, the healthcare system will concentrate on treating patients with coronavirus who really need medical attention, and this, according to the minister, is about 20-30% of the total number of cases. At the same time, control over asymptomatic patients in self-isolation will be strengthened, including through mobile groups with the participation of doctors, police officers and representatives of the Ministry of Emergencies.
Earlier, the World Health Organization announced a forecast according to which the situation with coronavirus on a global scale can stabilize within five years. In this regard, Torosyan noted the importance of the implementation of anti-epidemiological measures by citizens, recalling that violation of the established rules entails administrative responsibility. The Minister stressed that the extension of the state of emergency pursues the goal of controlling the spread of coronavirus.
Yesterday it became known about the self-isolation of Arsen Torosyan in connection with the case of coronavirus in the ministry. The minister's test for COVID-19 gave a negative result, however, despite this, he announced the continuation of self-isolation and work in remote mode. In total, 4044 cases of coronavirus were confirmed in the republic, 1660 people recovered, 52 died. Currently, 2304 patients are receiving actual treatment.
