ArmInfo. The restrictions imposed earlier on entry and exit to the territory of Armenia remain unchanged. Minister of Justice of Armenia Rustam Badasyan announced on May 14 at a press conference, commenting on the extension of the state of emergency.
The Minister informed that the emergency was extended taking into account the fact that this mode allows the use of certain restrictive tools. This, in particular, applies to the provisions on the isolation and self- isolation of citizens, as well as other restrictions on personal freedom. In addition, restrictions may apply subject to certain rules. For example, if the ban on public transport is lifted, passengers may be required to wear masks. As Badasyan explained, the Commandant's Office will be able to establish certain rules of conduct for the prevention of COVID-19, the implementation of which will be mandatory.
To recall, the state of emergency in Armenia, which was declared on March 16 and extended until 17:00 on May 14, by decision of the government, was extended until 17:00 on June 13. As stated in the rationale for the decision, coronavirus infection continues to threaten the life and health of the population and can lead to a violation of normal living conditions. In total, 3860 cases of coronavirus were confirmed in the republic, 1572 people recovered, 49 died. Currently, 2218 patients are receiving actual treatment.
