ArmInfo. Former Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan answered all the questions of the parliamentary committee investigating the events of the April war. This was stated in an interview with reporters by the head of the Committee, the lawmaker from the "My Step" bloc Andranik Kocharyan.
He noted that at a closed meeting, issues of interest to members of the committee were discussed. "I should note that we do not draw up our opinion solely on the answers of Karen Karapetyan, we will examine these issues, listening to various representatives of the former government," Kocharyan noted.
When asked by reporters whether Karen Karapetyan insisted on his statement that the military equipment of the Armenian side did not work during the April war due to low-quality diesel fuel, and whether this served as the basis for the Committee to take note of this statement, Kocharyan said: I rely on the answers of the military personnel who took part in the Committee's work before Karen Karapetyan, and I considered the explanations of the former commander of the Artsakh Defense Army very important>.
To note, the parliamentary committee to investigate the circumstances of the April war 2016in Karabakh was set up in 2019. The Committee includes representatives of all factions of the National Assembly. Its purpose is to identify possible errors, shortcomings or inaction on the part of the then authorities during the aforementioned period of aggravation of the situation at the border, which led to the death of more than 100 Armenian troops. The committee has already been visited by the third President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, former Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan, former Minister of Defense of Artsakh Levon Mnatsakanyan, head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia Artak Davtyan, while former chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia Yuri Khachaturov refused to attend the Committee's meeting.
