ArmInfo. The defense team of nephew of former President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan - Narek Sargsyan plans to appeal the decision to extend the arrest for another two months. According to lawyer Arthur Pivazyan, the relevant petition will be submitted to the Court of Appeal.
Pivazyan also informed that Sargsyan has some health problems, and therefore regularly takes medications. In this regard, the defense does not exclude the likelihood of him passing the appropriate examinations. Narek Sargsyan (the son of Serzh Sargsyan's brother - Alexander (Sashik) Sargsyan) is accused of illegally acquiring, storing, carrying, transporting or selling weapons and ammunition, as well as of illegal acquisition, storage, use and sale of drugs and narcotic drugs.
The police of Armenia, in cooperation with Interpol and foreign colleagues, found in the international wanted list of Narek Sargsyan in Prague on December 6, 2018. During the discovery, he had a fake passport of a Guatemalan citizen in the name of Franklin Gonzalez. At the beginning of December this year, it was decided by the relevant Czech authorities to satisfy the application of the RA Prosecutor General's Office to transfer Narek Sargsyan to the Armenian law enforcement bodies. He was extracted to Armenia on December 21, 2019, and was arrested on December 24. The preventive measure in the form of arrest, in accordance with the request of the preliminary investigation body, was extended by the court twice.
