ArmInfo. It is possible that by the end of May the number of cases of COVID-19 will reach 10 thousand in Armenia. On May 4, in an interview with reporters,  head of the RA Ministry of Healthcare Arsen Torosyan stated.

Meanwhile, it was noted that even in this case, the health care  system will be able to provide treatment for patients in serious and  extremely serious condition. Meanwhile, patients with mild symptoms,  in this scenario, will receive treatment at home. According to the  Minister, in the conditions of such an outbreak of coronavirus, the  further development of the events will directly depend on the  measures taken. 

According to him, a month ago, the World Health Organization  predicted that in Armenia the number of cases of coronavirus could  reach 500 thousand, but the republic still manages to keep the  situation under control. As for the gradual relaxation of restrictive  measures and the possibility of the impact of this factor on the  epidemiological situation, Torosyan pointed out the impossibility of  endless restrictions, in connection with which the personal  responsibility of every citizen and the strict implementation of  safety rules play a paramount role. At the same time, the minister  did not rule out the possibility of a slight increase in the  incidence rate among the population after the removal of current  restrictions.

Speaking about cases of coronavirus among medical workers, the  minister noted some stabilization of the situation. To date, the  number of these cases reaches 320, and in some cases we are talking  about infection outside the hospital walls.

In total, 2,507 cases of coronavirus were confirmed in the republic,  1,071 people recovered, 39 died.  Currently, 1393 patients are  receiving actual treatment.
