
ArmInfo. The Commandant's Office has decided to ease the state of emergency in Armenia in connection with the coronavirus pandemic. Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia Varos Simonyan announced these changes during the May 1 press conference.
In particular, according to him, from May 4, Armenian citizens have the right to free movement, while restrictions remain on the activities of public transport, including interregional, which still poses a threat in terms of the spread of coronavirus infection. However, there will be no need to provide passes for the movement of citizens. According to the decision of the Commandant's Office, the Employers will have to cover the transportation costs of employees.
Varosyan said that almost all restrictions are in retail and wholesale sectors. However, in the malls will continue to operate exclusively grocery stores, pharmacies and agricultural markets. From May 4, processing industry will be allowed for all types of activities. In the field of catering, only those restaurants and cafes that have open areas and terraces will operate. At the same time, by the decision of the Commandant, a botanical garden, a zoo and specially protected natural areas will be opened.
In addition, according to the deputy minister, the Commandant's Office will give permission for the activities of professional athletes for sporting events and sports clubs, as well as beauty salons, hairdressers and dry and wet cleaning services.
For all, sanitary-epidemiological rules and guidelines developed specifically for a particular area will apply, which will be under the strict supervision of the supervisory inspection of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, as well as interested departments. He added that these rules, which were developed by the Commandant's Office and the Ministry of Healthcare will be published on the websites of government and COVID-19, and the hotline number will continue to operate in case of additional issues.
According to the Deputy Minister of Healthcare Lena Nanushyan, the developed guidelines and sanitary and epidemiological rules are based on a single principle - maintaining social distance, excluding meetings, observing personal hygiene rules, airing, and disinfecting the premises.
