ArmInfo. In Armenia, veterans of the Great Patriotic War (WWII) on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the victory will receive monetary rewards in the amount of 300 thousand drams. This decision was made on April 30 at a meeting of the RA Government.
"During allocation of the annual budget, we will direct a total of 86 million drams for the implementation of this event," said RA Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Zaruhi Batoyan.
In view of the state of emergency declared in the country, public events will not be held. "However, through such modest means, we want to remind our veterans that they are the focus of government attention," she said. Stressing that these would be lump-sum payments, Batoyan reminded that since 2019 it has been possible to increase the amount of monthly benefits to WWII veterans from 50 thousand to 100 thousand drams.
It should be noted that today 287 WWII veterans live in Armenia.
