ArmInfo. In Armenia, 134 new cases of coronavirus were detected per day, which is a record for the country. The Minister of Health of the Republic of Armenia Arsen Torosyan announced this on April 30 at a government meeting.
According to him, some of the new cases are closely interconnected. So, there was a presence of a virus carrier at the funeral, which led to the spread of COVID-19 among other participants in the mourning event. In this regard, the Minister once again called on citizens to refrain from attending public events.
In total, 2066 cases of coronavirus were confirmed in the republic, 929 people recovered, 32 died. The last victims of the coronavirus were citizens of 69 and 47 years old, the latter suffered from a chronic disease. Currently, 1103 patients are receiving actual treatment.
Torosyan informed that, according to the latest data, 6 patients with COVID-19 are connected to the ventilator. The condition of 17 patients is assessed as extremely serious, 59 - as severe. The Minister did not rule out the possibility of a transition to a system for treating asymptomatic patients or with a mild course of coronavirus outside of hospital conditions. "We will try to postpone this day as much as possible, as this may lead to the further spread of the disease," he said, adding that with the current rate of spread of COVID-19, you can take a 5-6 day delay in this matter.
For his part, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted that so far in Armenia asymptomatic patients with coronavirus are under medical control, in fact they do not need treatment. However, this situation can be changed so that only those patients who need medical care remain in hospitals. In this regard, the importance of strict observance of quarantine by citizens who will be placed under home treatment was emphasized, which will help to avoid the spread of the virus. "We will be able to provide treatment for 1,500 patients in serious condition, taking into account also how many of them will need a ventilator," the prime minister said.
According to him, a certain percentage of citizens continue to ignore the repeatedly voiced safety rules for the prevention of coronavirus. He said that he had witnessed this the day before, when he and his family went for a walk and discovered a cluster of groups of talking citizens. "If there is only one virus carrier among them, he will infect 10-15 people at once," the prime minister noted. Thus, according to him, it is necessary to convey to the population the importance of observing the rules for preventing the spread of coronavirus, especially given the gradual mitigation of restrictive measures. , he said.
