ArmInfo. The Investigative Committee of Armenia reports that five people were detained in connection with the skirmish in Gavar.
According to the press service of the IC, the Committee initiated criminal proceedings on the fact of the killing of two people, injuring and causing bodily harm to four citizens, as well as skirmish in the city of Gavar. These cases are combined in one proceeding.
According to the source, on April 28, around 5:00pm in Gavar, people suspected of committing a crime, threatening the lives of other citizens, opened fire in the direction of residents of the Noratus community - Vahe Avetisyan, Hrachya Harutyunyan, Armen Sargsyan, Artyom Petrosyan and Sasun Meloyan, and residents of Gavar- Zohrab Paronikyan, Armen Aytyan and Vardan Davoyan. As a result of the shootout, investigator Zohrab Paronikyan and his son-in-law Vahe Avetisyan died, their injuries were incompatible with life, and the rest were taken to Gavar medical center. In fact, criminal cases were opened in the Investigative Committee of Armenia under Articles 104 (Murder - Ed. note) and 235 (Illegal acquisition, sale, storage, transportation, or carrying of weapons, ammunition, explosives or explosive devices - Ed. note) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. However, this incident continued. On the same day, the Gavar police received a signal that a group of people attacked the Gavar medical center, broke furniture and glass, and also attacked David Aytyan, wounding him with a sharp-cutting object, as a result of which the latter fell into a hematical shock.
As it turned out, the relatives of the victims Z. Paronikyan and V. Avetisyan considered that the murder was carried out by A. Aytyan, who is in the hospital, D. Aytyan and V. Davoyan. Relatives of the victims decided to kill them by vendetta, however, police officers prevented the relatives of the victims from carrying out another murder. In the course of the incident, police officers guarding the hospital entrances were also injured. Criminal proceedings have been instituted in the IC under Articles 34-104 (Attempted murder - Ed.), 185 (Intentional destruction or damage to property - Ed.), and 225 (Mass riots - Ed.) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. The preliminary investigation is ongoing, expert examinations have been appointed, 5 people have been detained on suspicion of rioting. All necessary investigative procedures are carried out to identify all the circumstances of the case .-
